Santa & Cole Dórica
By Jordi Miralbell

A delicate hand-made ribbon shade is offset by a sturdy bronze cylindrical base. The lamp stem is topped by a natural leather grip for a rustic feel. Reminiscent of humanitys oldest Greek columns, Dórica is a symbol of strength. An optional, wider stabilising base is also available for use in busy areas.
Jordi Miralbell and Mariona Raventós were a pair of design artisans who created different pieces of lighting and furniture, and tackled numerous projects together; amongst others, they were editors and partners at Santa & Cole. The poetic shapes of their lamps, crafted in materials such as parchment, raffia or cotton, offer different ways of lighting that reflect the essence of the creative duo: Design is the art of transforming the utilitarian into an object of desire, made with human warmth.
Dorica is a radiant sculpture of light. A classic allegory by one of Barcelonas most famous designer duo of the end of the century. A manifesto of the importance of industrial craftsmanship as the only way to offer the best user experience.
