Carolina Wilcke's Seam vase, designed in 2008, pays homage to imperfection. During the process of making molds for slip casting ceramics, seams are created through the various mold parts. These seams are often seen as unevenness. They are unwanted and will be removed. After Carolina took the vase out of the mould, she saw that the seam on it actually formed a very nice detail and decided to keep it. In the end, this also turned out to be characteristic of this vase.
